Consciousness, Psychology & Philosophy
"When the body says no" by Gabor Maté
Current book. Already hooked. I will let you know how it goes...
"Consciousness" by Susan Blackmore
The first textbook on consciousness that I read at university while studying consciousness. A very good introduction to the topic with deep questions to ask yourself that really get you thinking about what consciousness is.
Magick &Mysticism.
"The Night School" by Maia Toll
Helped me learn to know myself. Helped me to trust in the creative process and to release fear of expectation.
"High Magick" & "A Course in High Magick" Audiobook by Damien Echols
Thought forms helped me to change my mindset. Damien explains Magick and esoteric practices in a simple way. Damien was on death row while creating his magickal practices and had no access to magical tools. He had to make do with himself and a cup of water. That to me, made it more accessible because he wasn't encouraging people to buy fancy things just to access their own power.
Religion, Shamanism & Animism
"The Tao of Pooh and The Te of Piglet" by Benjamin Hoffman
Excellent explanation of Taoism. In a format I was used to - we all read Whinnie the Pooh in my family. It taught me about the uncarved block and following the path of least resistance.
"No Mud, No Lotus" by Thich Nhat Hanh
I listened to this as an audiobook several times while going through the worst parts of cancer treatments. It Helped me to change the way I looked at my experiences in life and to utilise the negative experience I was going through as a chance to grow. As someone who was used to putting my own needs aside, I started to develop boundaries and fulfil my own needs.
Physics, Space, U.A.P & E. T phenomenon.
"A brief history of time" by Stephen Hawking
Helped me psychologically. Understanding the universe takes away my fear of the unknown.
"Inside UFOs: True Accounts of Contact with Extraterrestrials" by Preston Dennet
I was already a believer. This book stopped me thinking I'd hallucinated my experience and allowed me to accept it as an unknown.
"Cosmos" by Carl Sagan
Learning about physics is soothing to me. The more I understand the cosmos, the less I fear it.
