"Life, death and rebirth" © 2022. Watercolour.
Originally started in oil on a huge canvas. As the chemo took hold, I couldn't stand the smell. Eventually I grew sick of the sight of it and destroyed it in a fit of rage. I would love to do it again as a huge watercolour piece, but I don't get the same satisfaction from oils as I do with watercolour. Watercolour is very fluid and flowing and oils feel like walking through thick mud. My mind goes quiet with watercolour, as I focus on my breathing. Watercolour is a very unpredictable medium and I have had to let go of any expectations about what I hope it might look like. It has taught me much patience.

Painting Challenge raising money for Coppafeel
My version of Frida Kahlo's "Two nudes in the forest/ The earth itself". Painted 2025.
In October 2025 I took part in a creative challenge for Coppafeel Breast Cancer charity. I am very grateful to this charity as they are aimed at younger people and highlight important facts such as: 1. anyone can get breast cancer as we ALL have breast tissue. Whether you call it a chest, breasts, boobs etc. it is all breast tissue! 2. Breast cancer doesn't just affect older people. Young people can and do get breast cancer. 3. Highlighting the importance of self examination and early detection. The more you know your normal, The easier it is to notice any changes. Early detection increases survival rates.
My tumour was a grade 3 carcinoma. This is a very fast growing tumour. I was extremely lucky to find it early. I am now five years cancer free ♥
Tarot meditations were also painted during this challenge to raise money towards a breast cancer charity- Coppafeel.

The Creator. A cup full of elements. 2025.
As a student of psychology, I am reluctant to hold onto beliefs, I prefer instead to hold ideas in mind. Ideas are easier to change when more information is available. Beliefs on the other hand, have the ability to change the way we perceive the world, as documented by psychologists Jerome Bruner and Leo Postman in their 1949 study. I believe in science, but I also think there is more to our universe than we humans can currently comprehend. I am interested in liminal spaces, mysticism, consciousness, E.S.P, higher dimensions and the study of our universe. I think with time we will have a better understanding of what lies beyond the human senses. I especially enjoy books on shamanism, and extra-terrestrial encounters.
