Healing through art. Journaling life events. Emotional outlet.
Into the Void. 2026 - Onwards...
A very personal project going deep inside myself and acknowledging my shadow self. Painting my trauma as a way to heal. The idea was to make a beautiful scene from the pain of the past, in a similar way to Frida Kahlo's paintings of herself during her illness and surgeries after the tram crash that pierced her pelvis.
This is a slow progressing project and requires me to deal with my trauma as I paint. For this reason I am taking my time with it and allowing it to unfold naturally as I am able to move through the emotions of the past.
This is an ongoing project started in early 2026.

I have always been happiest when out in nature.
To scramble up a hill and feel the earth beneath my feet. Walking barefoot in the sand, along a windy stretch of beach.
Watching ants make highways, and view the setting sun. Listening to the animals, the bird song and the bee's hum.
Age 16-19. College days.

Arriving home from work with my cat Yeti in tow. Everything is quiet. Smoke rises from the chimneys on a cold winter eve.
"Home sweet home" she said to the cat.
On the phone an answering machine answers...."leave your message after the beep"
"Hi Dad it's me, Just checking in" she replied to the machine.
A burner lit. She goes to bed. Dreams turn to nightmares in a tired head.
She escapes the danger of the night, a warm cosy feeling encompassing her. She wakes to find an awful sight, like a massacre! She had bled on the bed, what a fright! It was everywhere!
Coffee made she had laundry to do, lemon juice, bicarb and freezing cold water to get out blood and stop stains.
*Hot water makes the capillaries burst and it will turn brown. Always use cold water first with blood.
On the sofa in tears. The pain takes over her body. A trip to the toilet shows it's clotted and thick. A friendly knock at the door from a nice hedge witch.
"Come into my domain" she said "Let me spill the T"
Tears on the beach. For in the night, a call from the vet's revealed a terrible fate. Poor yeti was injured and could not be saved.
